Artem Dudko (Warsaw): On the Lebesgue measure of the Feigenbaum Julia set. Abstract: The Feigenbaum polynomial is the quadratic polynomial for which the universality phenomenon was first observed and from which the renormalization theory in dynamics started. A long-standing open question was whether its Julia set has positive Lebesgue measure. We show that the Julia set of the Feigenbaum polynomial has Hausdorff dimension less than 2 (and consequently it has zero Lebesgue measure). The talk is based on a joint work with Scott Sutherland.
