Edith Alice Kovács (Associate Professor), received her 5-year University Degree (equivalent to a Master’s Degree) in 1994 at the Western University of Timisoara. In 2005, she defended her Ph.D thesis and obtained her doctorate at the same university. Between 1994 and 2000, she taught and conducted research at the Aurel Vlaicu and Vasile Goldis Universities in Arad. After moving to Budapest in September 2000, she was employed by the Budapest College of Management, and on a part-time basis by Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Department of Differential Equations, where she commenced her full-time position in July 2015. The fields of research interest are Multivariate Statistics, Probabilistic Graphical Models, Information Theory, Network Reliability, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Decisions under Uncertainty, Mathematical modeling with application to Finance, Economic Processes, Medicine. In the Erasmus program, she gave courses at universities in Finland, Holland and Poland.
