FOCUS WEEK on NONEQUILIBRIUM SYSTEMS

The first focus week on NONEQUILIBRIUM SYSTEMS will take place in week two of the semester, from Monday June 2, 2008 to Friday June 6, 2008. The talks and the discussions will concentrate on four major topics:

a) Hamiltonian systems: low-dimensional particle systems
b) Hamiltonian systems: anharmonic chains and coupled maps
c) Stochastic systems
d) Open quantum systems

weeks 3 and 4 (9 June - 22 June 2008)

MINICOURSES on DIFFERENT APPROACHES TO STATISTICAL PROPERTIES IN HYPERBOLIC SYSTEMS

Week 4 (June 16-20)

V. Baladi: Some "new" Banach spaces, and why they are useful for dynamics
C. Liverani: Statistical properties of infinite dimensional systems
A. Wilkinson: From uniform to partial hyperbolicity
